Professional Bio:

Dr. Ana R..Guadalupe-Quinones started as Acting Rector of the University of Puerto Rico in October, 2009 and was named Rector in October 2010. Her professional and academic path has been linked most of her life with the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus where she obtained a BS in Chemistry and later her MS in Analytical Chemistry. She also has a Ph.D. in Analytical Electro Chemistry from Cornell University and a post-doctorate from the University of North Carolina.

In 1988 Dr. Guadalupe was named Chemistry professor and in 1994 was coordinator of the Graduate Chemistry Program of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. During 1999-2000 she worked as Director of the Office of Academic Affairs of the Vice Presidency of Investigation and Academic Affairs of the Central Administration of the UPR.

Since 2001 acted as Dean of Graduate Studies and Investigation of the Rio Piedras Campus. Under her tenure, the DGSI completed the evaluation of practically all the graduate programs of the Rio Piedras Campus and started with the creation of a Model and an Evaluation Plan in 2004 that ended with the enrollment of a high quality student body that increased the graduate students who enroll and graduate from the Rio Piedras campus.
